With her heart filled with hope,

and her suitcase filled with poetry

and cheeky bikini bottoms,

she went to Mexico

to join a man she barely knew

because

she knew

that the secret to living the life she wanted

wasn’t being unafraid –

it was embracing the fear

and doing the scary stuff

anyways.

She prepared for all of the scenarios that she could

and worried about a few that she couldn’t –

but ultimately, she decided to trust

herself
